Center Street report area
9 a.m.-noon
April 12, 13, 15, 18, 19, 20
Signup is the time when bus operators from all three garages come to Center Street to choose their work for the next three months. It's always an opportunity for dialogue between bus operators and staff from areas such as planning, communication, training and management.
This signup one of our key topics--along with safety and the summer service change--is Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail.  Displays and handouts are available throughout signup (April 11-21). In addition, Capital Projects staff will be in the report area from 9 to noon on six mornings. All employees are welcome. Stop by the first floor of 4012 SE 17th to learn more and share your questions.

Advantis Credit Union closing 17th Ave. branch in June

TriMet is purchasing the Advantis building at 3717 SE 17th, just north of TriMet’s Center Street facilities and adjacent to the Rhine Street MAX station. The property needs to be vacant so public utility work and light rail construction can begin. Advantis will add a NE 15th and Fremont branch this summer, while retaining its four existing branches: Lloyd Center, Hillsboro, downtown Portland and SE Belmont. The credit union website lists branch addresses and hours, along with information about online banking, workshops, membership and more. For more details, see the FAQ

Take a virtual tour of the new alignment

Need a quick introduction to what PMLR will look like when it's done? Capital Projects staffNick Stewart, Thomas Ngo, John Fall and Ric Vrana  have created a simulation of the path that the new MAX line will take.
The video combines narration and Google Earth images to provide an overview of the line, future light rail station sites, and several project structures. Note: Design will not be complete until spring 2012 so the route may change between now and then.
This eight-minute "flyover" video is featured on the PMLR homepage.

Semaphore Restaurant: 1950-2011

The Semaphore restaurant at SE 17th and Holgate closed February 26, much earlier than the project needed it to vacate the building, reflecting the owner’s desire to retire at this time. As required by law, the project must reimburse the owner for relocation and other related expenses. The owner, however, elected to receive a lump sum payment for his business relocation expenses and has elected not to relocate his business. For more information, see the FAQ
